EDSC meetings of Working Groups and Task Forces (16 – 26 September 2024)

Following the general meeting of the Education Data and Statistics Commission held on 4 July 2004, the working groups and task forces of the EDSC are meeting in September to discuss further their workplans and to provide inputs to the ongoing review process of the SDG 4 thematic indicator framework initiated by the UIS in April 2024 to complement the efforts of the IAEG-SDGs’ in its 2025 Comprehensive Review of the global indicator framework.

The working groups will discuss the indicators’ refinements proposed by the UIS and then prepare a document to be shared with their Chairs in mid-October. The latter will then prepare a report with the final version of the proposed refinements to be presented at the upcoming 11th meeting of the Commission in December 2024. The final review outcome will be shared with the SDG 4 High-Level Steering Committee (HLSC), through Functional Area 2 on data and monitoring, for validation during its next meeting. As for the Task Forces, they will also summarize their discussions and findings and share them with the Chairs of the corresponding working groups and the co-chairs of the EDSC.
